The God who Speaks
The Gospel of Matthew is proclaimed in our Churches in 2026 as part of the Lectionary Cycle - Year A.
As part of the ongoing 'God who Speaks' initiative, where we seek to explore the richness of Sacred Scripture, we are studying the Gospel of John from Autumn 2026 until Summer 2027, in six week sections.
Each Diocese and Parish are encouraged to enrich current practice and to develop and explore new ways of responding to ‘The God who Speaks’. To help achieve transformation in our hearts and in our communities there will be three themes of celebrating, living and sharing God’s word. Materials and information can be found on the Bishops’ Conference website http://www.cbcew.org.uk/home/events/the-god-who-speaks/
Together with the parish of St. Michael's, Sonning Common, I shall be running this scripture course on the Gospel of John on Thursday evenings by zoom (see our newsletter for more details) and on Friday morning in person at 10.00am,
I have created this page on our website, entitled The God who Speaks. This will be a place where all our materials can be found. I have written a course on the Gospel of John, as well as the Gospel of Mark and also the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke.
We begin our course on the Gospel of John on Thursday 1 & Friday 2 October 2026
You will find the materials and handout for each talk below.
