KNITTING TO HELP SAVE BABIES LIVES IN KABUL, AFGHANISTAN

The Justice & Peace Group have targeted a project in Afghanistan, thanks to the work & experiences of Allyson (click here to read her diary of life in Kabul).
Little babies die because of no head covering to keep them warm.

Our involvement:  To Knit & provide little baby hats, and any other items e.g. mitts, jackets, body warmers, tank tops, blankets or similar.

Latest Update:  Over 200 hats have been knitted, transported and distributed to babies at the Malalai Maternity Hospital in Kabul, which is a fantastic effort. Please click on the link to see photos which were taken on 15/11/09.    click here to View Photos

Meetings - Last Tuesday of the month.
for coffee/tea and a chat.
Please also bring along any hats knitted. If anyone has a different pattern, wool, or spare needles do please bring them. Ladies could meet up more regularly to knit together, if they so desire in small groups/couples.  Mary will supply a list of names and telephone numbers.

For more information please CONTACT  MARY HEATH:  TEL:    01491 579080

If you have any spare wool that can be donated
for the parish knitting group, this would be gratefully received.
Please contact Mary on the number above
