The International Lunch last weekend was
a great success with over 100 people attending to sample and enjoy 30
dishes from 18 different countries and regions. The weather was very
kind and we were able to use the gardens as well as the Hall, which was
a great bonus.
Although not intended as a specific fund
raiser for the Parish, we did manage to raise £170.00 from the raffle,
bar and other donations from those who attended, but were unable to
provide a dish.
Many thanks to all those who helped in
the organization of the event, including Eileen Preston and Toni Aitken
for organising the raffle and Mary and Brian Heath for managing the
drinks.
Very special thanks to all those who put
so much effort into cooking their national and regional dishes, all of
which were delicious. We hope to run a similar event next year in order
to build on the success of this first endeavour.
The next social event is the Parish BBQ,
Sunday 28 June. Further details to follow.
